The team at Alkaway are on a mission to reduce harm caused by tap water and plastic bottled water. We are currently working to protect World Heritage Listed Springbrook Falls, which is under threat from water mining.

Saving Springbrook National Park
We are actively engaged in efforts to protect the World Heritage-listed Springbrook Falls from the threats posed by water mining. Springbrook National Park, part of the Gondwana Rainforests of Australia, is renowned for its ancient ecosystems, cascading waterfalls, and unique biodiversity. It is the world's first Rainforest. However, the region faces significant environmental challenges due to ongoing water extraction activities. Water mining in the Springbrook area involves extracting large volumes of water for the commercial bottling of water. This practice has raised concerns among environmentalists and local communities about the potential depletion of aquifers, reduced water flow to waterfalls, and the overall impact on the delicate rainforest ecosystem. We are fighting with these groups to Stop the Water Mining of Springbrook National Park.

Looking ahead to 2026 and beyond...
In 2025 and beyond, we will be focused on Saving Springbrook National Park, initiating an independant Impact Report, and acting on the recommendations. Our goal is to one day become a B-Corp Certified company - the gold standard in operating a sustainable company.
